Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), 33-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sacred Heart-Griffin upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Cyclones travel to Glenwood (Chatham, IL) to play the Titans in a Central State Eight bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Glenwood lost 46-34 in their recent non-league bout against Limestone (Bartonville, IL)

Next up, the Pioneers play the Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL) in a Central State Eight bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Normal University will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record.
