Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mission Viejo Diablos (Mission Viejo, CA), 56-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Capistrano Valley upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Cougars host Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) to clash with the Titans in a bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Tesoro won 85-50 in their recent non-league bout against Aliso Niguel (Aliso Viejo, CA)

Next up, the Diablos clash with the San Clemente Tritons (San Clemente, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Mission Viejo will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Tritons go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 54-49 non-league win over Portola (Irvine, CA).
