Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA), 53-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Albemarle upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Patriots host Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA) to play the Flying Flucos in a Jefferson bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Flying Flucos go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Fluvanna County won 102-86 in their recent non-league bout against Fort Defiance (Fort Defiance, VA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA) in a Jefferson bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Western Albemarle will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Fighting Hornets go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 47-38 non-league loss to Martinsville (Martinsville, VA).
