The Fort Cherry Rangers (McDonald, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers (Houston, PA), 59-40 in Friday's league test.

The Rangers (4-1) will now prepare for their test against Frazier (Perryopolis, PA). The Commodores go into the WPIAL 2A 4 test with a 6-4 record. In their last test, Frazier notched a victory over California (Coal Center, PA), 81-72, in a non-league test.

The Buccaneers now own a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Bentworth for a WPIAL 2A 4 test on Tuesday, January 2. Chartiers-Houston will encounter a Bearcats squad coming off a 48-38 non-league loss to Carrick (Pittsburgh, PA). The Bearcats record now stands at 1-7.
