Rayville Hornets (Rayville, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting East St. John Wildcats (Reserve, LA), 80-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Rayville upgrades its record to 10-6 on the season. The Hornets host Carroll (Monroe, LA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 11-5. Carroll won 54-46 in their recent non-league bout against Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Thibodaux Tigers (Thibodaux, LA) in a 5A District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. East St. John will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 54-47 non-league win over John Ehret (Marrero, LA).
