Hackett Hornets (Hackett, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Elkins Elks (Elkins, AR), 58-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hackett upgrades its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Charleston (Charleston, AR) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region 4 bout on Friday, January 5. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 6-9. Charleston lost 69-45 in their recent non-league bout against Mammoth Spring (Mammoth Spring, AR)

Coming up next, the Elks confront the Ozark Catholic Academy Griffins (Springdale, AR) in a non-league battle, on Friday, January 5. Elkins will attempt to improve on its 16-1 season record.
