The Holyoke Purple Knights topped the visiting Longmeadow Lancers basketball team by a final score of 72-54 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Purple Knights face the Putnam Vo-Tech Beavers (Springfield, MA) in a Valley game, on Friday, January 5. Holyoke will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record.

With the defeat, Longmeadow moves to 2-5 on the year. The Lancers travel to West Springfield (West Springfield, MA) to face the Terriers in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 2. The Terriers enter the game with a record of 0-5.
