Jonesboro Hurricane (Jonesboro, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Springdale Bulldogs (Springdale, AR), 47-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Jonesboro upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Hurricane travel to Bryant (Bryant, AR) to play the Hornets in a 6A Central bout on Friday, January 5. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 17-3. Bryant won 65-64 in their recent non-league bout against North Little Rock (North Little Rock, AR)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Fayetteville Bulldogs (Fayetteville, AR) in a 6A West bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Springdale will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 11-2 record after their 59-42 league win over Northside (Fort Smith, AR).
