Riesel Indians (Riesel, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Wortham Bulldogs (Wortham, TX), 59-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Riesel upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Indians travel to Bremond (Bremond, TX) to clash with the Tigers in a 2A Region III District 18 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Bremond won 57-29 in their recent league challenge against Mart (Mart, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Marlin Bulldogs (Marlin, TX) in a 2A Region III District 18 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Wortham will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 67-40 league win over Hubbard (Hubbard, TX).
