Zillah Leopards (Zillah, WA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Seton Catholic Cougars (Vancouver, WA), 73-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Zillah upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Leopards host La Salle (Union Gap, WA) to play the Lightning in a 1A South Central - West bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Lightning go into the bout with a record of 5-4. La Salle lost 68-54 in their recent non-league bout against Davenport (Davenport, WA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Columbia Bruins (White Salmon, WA) in a 1A Trico bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Seton Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Bruins go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 58-44 non-league loss to Heritage (Vancouver, WA).
