Bucksport Golden Bucks (Bucksport, ME) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting George Stevens Academy Eagles (Blue Hill, ME), 43-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Bucksport upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Golden Bucks travel to Central (East Corinth, ME) to clash with the Red Devils in a C North bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Red Devils go into the bout with a record of 2-2.

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners (Deer Isle, ME) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. George Stevens Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Mariners go into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 22-11 league win over Bangor Christian (Bangor, ME).
