Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), 45-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Champaign Central upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Maroons travel to Springfield (Springfield, IL) to clash with the Senators in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Senators go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Springfield won 51-26 in their recent league bout against Normal University (Normal, IL)

Next up, the Trojans clash with the St. Anthony Bulldogs (Effingham, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Charleston will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 60-38 non-league win over Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL).
