Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC), 47-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hickory upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Red Tornadoes travel to North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC) to play the Knights in a 3A Western Foothills bout on Friday, January 5. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 9-2. North Lincoln lost 50-36 in their recent non-league bout against Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC)

Next up, the Indians play the North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC) in a 3A Western Foothills bout, on Friday, January 5. St. Stephens will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 67-23 non-league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC).
