    • North Carolina High School Basketball - Hickory trounces Newton-Conover

    December 3, 2021: Hickory, NC 28601

    The Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 64-17 in Friday's non-league test.

    The Red Tornadoes (3-0) will now prepare for their test against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Greenwave go into the non-league test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Ashbrook walloped Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 64-50, in a non-league test.

    The Red Devils now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Alexander Central for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 7. Newton-Conover will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 59-40 non-league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 3-1.
