The Mattoon Green Wave basketball squad scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Lincoln Railsplitters to 31 in the Green Wave league victory on Friday.
With the victory, Mattoon upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Green Wave travel to Effingham (Effingham, IL) to play the Flaming Hearts in a Apollo bout on Thursday, December 9. The Flaming Hearts come into the bout with a record of 7-0. Effingham won 45-27 in their recent non-league bout against North Clay/Clay City (Louisville, IL)
Next up, the Railsplitters play the Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 6. Lincoln will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 63-28 non-league loss to Champaign Central (Champaign, IL).
