The Akins Eagles basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting Crockett Cougars to 28 in the Eagles non-league victory on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Del Valle for a 6A Region IV District 26 contest on Tuesday, December 6. Akins will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 56-53 non-league win over University (Waco, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 5-3.

The Cougars (0-11) will now prepare for their contest against Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin (Austin, TX). The Raptors come into the 5A Region III District 24 contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin triumphed over Salado (Salado, TX), 68-49, in a non-league contest.
