    Gibsonburg Golden Bears (Gibsonburg, OH) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains (Bascom, OH), 52-50 in a league bout.

    With the win, Gibsonburg upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Golden Bears travel to Woodmore (Elmore, OH) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 8. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-1.

    Next up, the Chieftains play the New Riegel Blue Jackets (New Riegel, OH) in a Sandusky Bay - River bout, on Friday, December 16. Hopewell-Loudon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record.
