The Newton Rams (Covington, GA) basketball edged the host South Gwinnett Comets (Snellville, GA), 55-50 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Rams now possess a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Rockdale County for a AAAAAA Region 4 bout on Friday, December 6. Newton will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 64-46 league loss to Archer (Lawrenceville, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, South Gwinnett falls to 6-1 on the campaign. The Comets host Cristo Rey Atlanta (Atlanta, GA) to play the in a non-league bout on Friday, December 6.
