Virginia High School Basketball - Amherst County knocks off Appomattox County

In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Amherst County Lancers basketball team scored a good 60-40 win over the Appomattox County Raiders.
The Lancers (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA). The Black Knights come into the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Charlottesville dropped by Eastern View (Culpeper, VA), 47-44, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Raiders battle the Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 5. Appomattox County will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Dukes come into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 69-18 non-league win over Charles City (Charles City, VA).
