The Ashe County Huskies basketball squad (West Jefferson, NC), lost 58-40 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

With the victory, Avery County advances its record to 6-1 on the year. The Vikings travel to Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC) to meet the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Friday, December 5. The Mustangs enter the battle with a record of 4-2. Smoky Mountain won 66-39 in their recent non-league battle against Swain County (Bryson City, NC)

The Huskies now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Alexander Central for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 10. Ashe County will battle a Cougars team coming off a 66-30 non-league win over Newton-Conover (Newton, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 6-0.
