Texas High School Basketball - Detroit can't hold off McLeod

The McLeod Longhorns basketball team scored 40 points and held the host Detroit Eagles to 35 in the Longhorns league triumph on Thursday.
The Longhorns now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Maud for a 2A Region II District 16 contest on Tuesday, January 4. McLeod will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 49-45 non-league loss to Canton (Canton, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 5-13.
The Eagles (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Clarksville (Clarksville, TX). The Tigers enter the 2A Region II District 16 contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, Clarksville nudged Linden-Kildare (Linden, TX), 58-55, in a league contest.
