Aldine Mustangs (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Orange-Stark Mustangs (Orange, TX), 63-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Aldine upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season. The Mustangs host Dekaney (Houston, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 6A Region II District 14 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 7-15. Dekaney lost 59-42 in their recent non-league bout against Cypress Ranch (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Lumberton Raiders (Lumberton, TX) in a 4A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. West Orange-Stark will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 62-52 non-league loss to Woodville (Woodville, TX).
