New Summerfield Hornets (New Summerfield, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alto Yellowjackets (Alto, TX), 56-31 in a league bout.

With the win, New Summerfield upgrades its record to 15-4 on the season. The Hornets host Mt. Enterprise (Mt. Enterprise, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 2A Region III District 22 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-10. Mt. Enterprise lost 43-19 in their recent league bout against Carlisle (Price, TX)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Overton Mustangs (Overton, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Alto will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 7-7 record after their 47-19 league loss to Douglass (Douglass, TX).
