The Nome-Beltz Nanooks (Nome, AK) basketball felled the host Barrow Whalers (Utqiagvik, AK), 67-59 in Friday's league test.
The Nanooks (4-1) will now prepare for their test against Unalakleet (Unalakleet, AK). The Wolfpack go into the non-league test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Unalakleet thwarted Shaktoolik (Shaktoolik, AK), 69-64, in a non-league test.
The Whalers now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they travel to Palmer for a non-league test on Thursday, January 12. Barrow will encounter a Moose squad coming off a 72-40 non-league loss to Mt. Edgecumbe (Sitka, AK). The Moose record now stands at 0-1.
