The McLoughlin Pioneers (Milton-Freewater, OR) basketball nipped the host College Place Hawks (College Place, WA), 53-50 in Friday's non-league test.
The Pioneers (3-7) will now prepare for their test against La Grande (La Grande, OR). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, La Grande was tipped by Redmond (Redmond, OR), 67-38, in a non-league test.
The Hawks now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they host Connell for a 1A South Central - East test on Tuesday, January 3. College Place will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 52-38 non-league win over Cascade (Leavenworth, WA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-4.
