Franklin Panthers (Franklin, MA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Xaverian Brothers Hawks (Westwood, MA), 62-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Franklin upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Panthers host Taunton (Taunton, MA) to play the Tigers in a Hockomock bout on Friday, January 6. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 4-0. Taunton won 61-57 in their recent non-league bout against Dartmouth (South Dartmouth, MA)

Next up, the Hawks face the Boston College High Eagles (Boston, MA) in a Catholic game, on Tuesday, January 3. Xaverian Brothers will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 1-2 record after their 61-56 non-league loss to Brookline (Brookline, MA).
