The McLeod Longhorns basketball team scored 41 points and held the host Tom Bean Tomcats to 37 in the Longhorns non-league triumph on Friday.
The Longhorns now sport a 16-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hawkins for a 2A Region III District 21 contest on Tuesday, January 3. McLeod will meet a Hawks team coming off a 47-45 non-league win over East Texas Homeschool Sports (Longview, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 12-6.
The Tomcats (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Sam Rayburn (Ivanhoe, TX). The Rebels enter the 2A Region II District 14 contest with a 14-4 record. In their last contest, Sam Rayburn nudged Chisum (Paris, TX), 50-34, in a non-league contest.
