Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Seaside Seagulls (Seaside, OR) and the visiting Newport Cubs (Newport, OR), saw Seaside's basketball squad overcome Newport by a tally of 64-48.

With the victory, Seaside improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Seagulls travel to St. Helens (St. Helens, OR) to confront the Lions in a 4A Cowapa challenge on Friday, January 6. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 2-8.

Next up, the Cubs confront the Molalla Indians (Molalla, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Newport will attempt to improve on its 4-4 season record.
