The Wakefield Trojans basketball team (Wakefield, NE), was overwhelmed 66-28 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Ponca Indians (Ponca, NE)

The Indians now possess a 8-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crofton for a C2 District 5 battle on Tuesday, January 3. Ponca will confront a Warriors team coming off a 42-32 non-league win over St. Francis (Humphrey, NE). The Warriors record now stands at 8-1.

The Trojans (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Lutheran-Northeast (Norfolk, NE). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 3-6 record. In their last battle, Lutheran-Northeast trounced Neligh-Oakdale (Neligh, NE), 71-30, in a non-league battle.
