The Towns County Indians basketball team (Hiawassee, GA), was overwhelmed 72-46 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA)

The Panthers now possess a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Athens Academy for a AA Region 8 battle on Friday, January 6. Union County will confront a Spartans team coming off a 58-32 non-league win over Thomas Nelson (Bardstown, KY). The Spartans record now stands at 11-1.

The Indians (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 1-10 record.
