Wheeler Mustangs (Wheeler, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting West Texas Comanches (Stinnett, TX), 41-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wheeler upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Wildorado (Wildorado, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 1A Region I District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 6-7. Wildorado lost 46-19 in their recent non-league bout against Christoval (Christoval, TX)

Next up, the Comanches play the San Jacinto Christian Academy Patriots (Amarillo, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. West Texas will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 15-2 record after their 42-35 non-league win over Groom (Groom, TX).
