The Holy Spirit Spartans (Absecon, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting Cedar Creek Pirates (Egg Harbor City, NJ), 53-41 in Saturday's league test.

The Spartans (1-6) will now prepare for their test against Mainland Regional (Linwood, NJ). The Mustangs go into the Cape/Atlantic - National test with a 7-0 record. In their last test, Mainland Regional notched a victory over Lenape (Medford, NJ), 55-38, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now own a 0-9 record. They play next when they host Hammonton for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 3. Cedar Creek will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 74-54 non-league loss to Middle Township (Cape May Court House, NJ). The Blue Devils record now stands at 1-3.
