Granger Lions (Granger, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Central Texas Christian Lions (Temple, TX), 61-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Granger upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Thorndale (Thorndale, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region IV District 27 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 17-3. Thorndale won 62-22 in their recent non-league bout against Giddings (Giddings, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Brazos Christian Eagles (Bryan, TX) in a TAPPS 3A District 3 bout, on Monday, January 8. Central Texas Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 77-42 non-league win over Cornerstone Christian Academy (Bryan, TX).
