The Union Bears basketball team (Big Stone Gap, VA), was nudged 54-49 in Saturday's league battle with the host Central Wise Warriors (Norton, VA)
The Warriors now possess a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lee for a Mountain battle on Tuesday, January 2. Central Wise will confront a Generals team coming off a 66-59 non-league loss to Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA). The Generals record now stands at 2-7.
The Bears (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes come into the non-league battle with a 5-3 record.
