Shawnee Golden Eagles (Louisville, KY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Fort Knox Eagles (Fort Knox, KY), 46-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Shawnee upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Golden Eagles travel to Portland Christian (Louisville, KY) to play the Eagles in a District 25 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 2-8. Portland Christian lost 73-34 in their recent non-league bout against Waggener (Louisville, KY)

Next up, the Eagles confront the Christian Educational Consortium Cougars (Louisville, KY) in a non-league battle, on Monday, January 15. Fort Knox will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record.
