The Making Waves Academy Marlins (Richmond, CA) basketball nipped the host Mendocino Cardinals (Mendocino, CA), 56-49 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Marlins (7-6) will now prepare for their test against California School for the Deaf (Fremont, CA). The Eagles go into the Bay Counties - General test with a 2-7 record.
The Cardinals now own a 7-4 record. They play next when they travel to Point Arena for a North Central III test on Tuesday, January 9. Mendocino will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 68-61 non-league loss to Novato (Novato, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 7-5.
