Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Somerset Christian Cougars (Somerset, KY), 86-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Somerset upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Briar Jumpers travel to Rockcastle County (Mt. Vernon, KY) to play the Rockets in a District 47 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 8-5. Rockcastle County won 58-48 in their recent non-league bout against Douglas (Douglas, AL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) in a District 48 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Somerset Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 10-2 record after their 70-49 non-league win over Clay County (Celina, TN).
