The Pomeroy Pirates basketball team scored 38 points and held the host Waitsburg/Prescott Cardinals to 11 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Pirates now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rosalia for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. Pomeroy will meet a Spartans team coming off a 70-5 non-league loss to Chewelah (Chewelah, WA). The Spartans record now stands at 1-8.
The Cardinals (0-7) will now prepare for their contest against Sunnyside Christian (Sunnyside, WA). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Sunnyside Christian triumphed over Liberty Christian (Richland, WA), 54-33, in a non-league contest.
