In Monday's non-league contest, the visiting Cedar Creek Cougars basketball team scored a close 76-70 triumph over the West Ouachita Chiefs.
The Cougars (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Castor (Castor, LA). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 11-4 record. In their last contest, Castor was tipped by D'Arbonne Woods (Farmerville, LA), 62-60, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Chiefs battle the Quitman Wolverines (Quitman, LA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. West Ouachita will attempt to better on its 12-7 season record. The Wolverines go into the contest with a 15-2 record after their 71-40 non-league win over Cedar Creek (Ruston, LA).
