In Monday's non-league contest, the host Chatham Cougars basketball team scored a big 77-47 triumph over the New Providence Pioneers.

The Cougars (5-0) will now prepare for their contest against Ridge (Basking Ridge, NJ). The Red Devil go into the non-league contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Ridge smashed Livingston (Livingston, NJ), 66-37, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Pioneers confront the Dayton Bulldogs (Springfield, NJ) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. New Providence will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 2-2 record after their 57-37 non-league loss to Hoboken (Hoboken, NJ).
