In Monday's non-league contest, the host Hatton Hornets basketball team scored a good 78-70 win over the Colbert County Indians.

The Hornets (2-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Deshler (Tuscumbia, AL). The Tigers come into the 4A Area 14 challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Deshler prevailed over Sheffield (Sheffield, AL), 83-66, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians encounter the Lauderdale County Tigers (Rogersville, AL) in a 3A Area 16 challenge, on Friday, January 3. Colbert County will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 86-63 non-league loss to Oakwood Academy (Huntsville, AL).
