In Monday's non-league test, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) basketball squad got by the host College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals (Jamestown, NC), by a score of 49-46.
Next, the Comets clash with the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) in a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley test, on Tuesday, January 7. North Stanly will attempt to improve on its 11-1 season record. The Cardinals come into the test with a 7-2 record after their 60-55 non-league win over Anson (Wadesboro, NC).
The Royals (9-1) will now prepare for their test against Winston-Salem Prep (Winston-Salem, NC). The Phoenix come into the 1A Northwest Piedmont test with a 8-0 record. In their last test, Winston-Salem Prep held off Parkland (Winston-Salem, NC), 58-56, in a non-league test.
