Next, the Lions clash with the Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS) in a 1A Region 2 test, on Friday, January 3. Byers will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Hawks come into the test with a 7-9 record after their 56-26 non-league win over Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS).

The Cougars (2-12) will now prepare for their test against Smithville (Smithville, MS). The Seminoles come into the non-league test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Smithville was nipped by Oak Hill Academy (West Point, MS), 54-41, in a non-league test.
