In Monday's non-league contest, the host Powell Panthers basketball team scored a good 65-51 win over the Coalfield Yellow Jackets.
The Panthers (10-5) will now prepare for their contest against Morristown-Hamblen West (Morristown, TN). The Trojans come into the non-league contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Morristown-Hamblen West was topped by David Crockett (Jonesborough, TN), 61-46, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Yellow Jackets battle the Greenback Cherokees (Greenback, TN) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. Coalfield will attempt to better on its 10-4 season record.
