Texas High School Basketball - Cooper knocked off by Monterey

The Monterey Plainsmen basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Cooper Pirates to 63 in the Plainsmen non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Plainsmen now sport a 18-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wylie for a 5A Region I District 4 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Monterey will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 51-37 non-league loss to Brewer (Fort Worth, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-10.
The Pirates (17-5) will now prepare for their contest against Coronado (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs enter the 5A Region I District 4 contest with a 16-8 record. In their last contest, Coronado was defeated by Holliday (Holliday, TX), 53-46, in a league contest.
