The Martin County Cardinals basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the host Knott County Central Patriots to 48 in the Cardinals non-league victory on Monday.

The Cardinals now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Harlan County for a non-league contest on Friday, December 8.

The Patriots (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY). The Cougars / Lady Cougars come into the District 53 contest with a 3-1 record. In their last contest, Letcher County Central was nudged by Harlan County (Harlan, KY), 73-36, in a non-league contest.
