Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Pickens Academy Pirates (Carrollton, AL) and the visiting South Choctaw Academy Rebels (Toxey, AL), saw Pickens Academy's basketball squad overcome South Choctaw Academy by a tally of 44-28.

With the victory, Pickens Academy improves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Southern Academy (Greensboro, AL) to confront the Cougars in a AISA AA Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 2-0.

Next up, the Rebels confront the Escambia Academy Cougars (Atmore, AL) in a AISA A Region 2 challenge, on Friday, January 12. South Choctaw Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record.
