Wewahitchka Gators (Wewahitchka, FL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ponce De Leon Pirates (Ponce De Leon, FL), 40-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wewahitchka upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Port St. Joe (Port St. Joe, FL) to play the Tiger Sharks in a bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Tiger Sharks come into the bout with a record of 0-2. Port St. Joe lost 80-33 in their recent non-league bout against Wakulla (Crawfordville, FL)

Next up, the Pirates play the Paxton Bobcats (Paxton, FL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Ponce De Leon will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
