In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Van Vleck Leopards basketball team scored a close 45-44 triumph over the Austin Mustangs.

The Leopards (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Episcopal (Bellaire, TX). The Knights go into the non-league contest with a 9-0 record. In their last contest, Episcopal nipped Rouse (Leander, TX), 60-49, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Calhoun Sandcrabs (Port Lavaca, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, December 5. Austin will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Sandcrabs go into the game with a 0-3 record after their 38-34 non-league loss to Gonzales (Gonzales, TX).
