Pacific Lutheran Stingrays (Gardena, CA) backers went home thrilled Thursday as they saw their basketball team thwart the host Compton Early College Rising Phoenix (Compton, CA), 50-34 in a league contest.

The Stingrays (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Animo Leadership (Inglewood, CA). The Aztec Eagles go into the Mulholland contest with a 4-0 record. In their last contest, Animo Leadership topped Ambassador (Torrance, CA), 61-35, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Rising Phoenix confront the Ambassador Lions (Torrance, CA) in a Mulholland contest, on Tuesday, December 9. Compton Early College will attempt to better on its 0-3 season record. The Lions go into the contest with a 0-3 record after their 61-35 league loss to Animo Leadership (Inglewood, CA).
